highway project greenfield
The Union government has planned to build a greenfield access-controlled corridor directly linking Vijayawada and Bengaluru and connecting two major cities in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh at a cost of ₹13,600 crore. The Bengaluru-Kadapa-Vijayawada Greenfield Access Controlled Corridor is part of the Bengaluru-Vijayawada Expressway project. It aims at reducing travel distance by 75 km and travel time by five hours.

The four-to-six-lane highway will be feeder roads connecting at strategic points. The highway will connect the two cities via Kadapa (AP). The corridor would improve connectivity to existing and future economic and industrial hubs like Guntur, Kadapa, and Koparthy. The 342-km highway project will be completed by 2025.
