Bihar targets 15,273-km rural road widening projects

road widening projects
Bihar government has planned road upgradation of 15,273-km rural road network across all districts of the state in a phased manner to resolve traffic snarls in these areas. Under the new scheme, a one-lane road will be converted into an intermediate lane, while intermediate lanes will be widened into two-lane roads and roads which are already two lanes but still experience jams will be widened further to ensure hassle free vehicular movement. In areas where roads are narrow but due to land acquisition problems, widening cannot be carried out, flyovers will be built.
