AP targets ₹3,572.92-cr rural & urban road network
The AP government has earmarked ₹3,572.92 crore for construction of new roads and upgradation and restoration of existing roads across the state. As much as ₹2,500 crore will be spent on R&B roads and ₹1,072.92 crore on panchayat raj roads, said an official spokesperson. The CM has directed R&B and panchayat raj departments to start restoration of all roads and wanted them to complete the work in the next year and show its progress under the Nadu-Nedu program. The DPRs are ready for seven roads to be developed into national highways and officials are to complete land acquisition for the Bengaluru-Vijayawada, Khammam-Devarapalli, MadanapallePileru, Renigunta-Naidupeta, Muddanuru-B Kothapalli-Gorantla, Tadipatri-Muddanuru Mydukuru-Porumamilla-Itarampuram-Malakonda-Singarayakonda roads. The CM also told officials that the government would take up seven projects to provide better road connectivity to the neighboring states. These included Bengaluru-Chennai, Chittoor-Chennai, Raipur-Visakhapatnam, Sholapur-Kurnool, Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam and Nagapur-Vijayawada.
