PM Modi Inaugurates ₹33,700 Cr Development Projects in Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, initiated construction, and dedicated multiple infrastructure projects worth ₹33,700 crore in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh to boost power generation, connectivity, education, and housing.
To strengthen the power sector, he launched NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (800 MW) worth ₹9,790 crore, initiated work on Chhattisgarh's first Super Critical Thermal Power Project (2x660 MW) worth ₹15,800 crore, and dedicated three POWERGRID transmission projects worth ₹560 crore.
In line with India’s net-zero goals, he laid the foundation stone for Bharat Petroleum’s City Gas Distribution project in four districts, featuring a 1,000 km pipeline network worth ₹1,285 crore. Additionally, he launched Hindustan Petroleum’s 540 km Visakh-Raipur Pipeline Project worth ₹2,210 crore, designed to transport petrol, diesel, and kerosene.
Focusing on connectivity, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for 18 railway projects spanning 219 km worth ₹2,690 crore and flagged off a MEMU train in the Abhanpur-Raipur section. He also dedicated 100% railway electrification in Chhattisgarh, enhancing regional transport efficiency.
For road infrastructure, he inaugurated and launched three highway projects totaling 159.5 km worth ₹1,270 crore, improving access to tribal and industrial areas.
In the education sector, he inaugurated 130 PM SHRI Schools across 29 districts and Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Raipur to enhance education monitoring and quality.
Furthering rural development, he handed over keys to 3 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) beneficiaries, ensuring improved housing and quality of life.
