Odisha to Develop 645-km Ring Road Network for Bhubaneswar–Cuttack–Puri–Paradip Economic Corridor

Ring-Road-project
The Odisha government has unveiled a major plan to develop the Bhubaneswar–Cuttack–Puri–Paradip Economic Region (BCPPER) into an integrated economic corridor backed by a comprehensive infrastructure roadmap. The initiative includes constructing three ring roads totaling 645 km to boost connectivity, industrial growth, commerce, and tourism.

During a high-level review at Lok Seva Bhawan, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi directed departments to design a focused development programme that will transform all key cities in the corridor into “growth hubs.”

The proposed network features a 432-km Capital Ring Road connecting Paradip to Puri via Tangi, Saptasajya, and Rameshwar, aligned with the Centre’s planned 111-km Capital Region Ring Road. Odisha will also build a 148-km outer ring road and a 65-km inner ring road to improve mobility and support large-scale regional development.

The project is expected to significantly strengthen infrastructure, attract investment, and position the BCPPER region as one of eastern India’s most dynamic economic zones.
