NHAI floats tender for ₹1,146-cr national highway project

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated tender for four-laning of Sannur to Bikarnakette section with scope of work including building Sannur to Bikarnakette section from the existing 698.850 km (design 691.350 km) and 744.190 km (design 736.362 km) of NH-169 in Karnataka on HAM model under the Bharathmala Pariyojana (Package-III) at an investment of ₹1,146 crore. In totality, the ministry has launched and dedicated 33 national highway projects across Karnataka recently. While three of these projects will be executed by the national highway wing of PWD, the fourth was the dedication of four-laning of Goa-Karnataka border to Kundapur section. The dedication of the 41-km stretch from Shiroor to Kundapur under the Goa-Karnataka border project will be a game-changer. The NH wing will take up widening of NH 169 to a 2-lane stretch with paved shoulder from Gadikallu to SK border in Chikkamagaluru district at a cost of ₹96.08-crore. Among others, three minor bridges between km 26.05 to 28.14 on NH 169-A and also between Agumbe and Malpe will be reconstructed at a cost of ₹8.20 crore and MoRTH has spent ₹2,638 crore on four-laning 187-kms between Goa and Karnataka border up to Kundapur section from 93.70-283.30 km.
