Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project Launches 4th Steel Bridge

On August 25, 2024, a 100-meter-long steel bridge was launched near Silvassa in Dadra & Nagar Haveli as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. The 1,464 MT steel structure, measuring 14.6 meters in height and 14.3 meters in width, was fabricated in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, and transported to the site for installation.
The bridge was launched using an 84-meter temporary launching nose, weighing 600 MT, to avoid the need for intermediate supports. The process involved the use of 27,500 High-Strength Friction Grip (HSFG) bolts for the launching nose and 55,250 Tor-Shear Type High Strength (TTHS) bolts with C5 system painting and elastomeric bearings for the main bridge.
This is the fourth of 28 planned steel bridges for the Bullet Train corridor, showcasing India's engineering excellence and commitment to the "Make in India" initiative.
