MSRDC awards ₹7,000-cr new sea-link project

Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has awarded the Bandra and Versova new sea link project of ₹7,000 crore to Reliance Infrastructure. The new Sea Link would cut down commuting time to 10 minutes from the current 90 minutes. The project delivery will take place shortly as the infra builder has already secured the appointed date from MSRDC. Bombay High Court has also given permission to MSRDC to cut down a substantial portion of the city‘s mangroves to begin the much-awaited construction. The project includes building eight lanes to accommodate vehicles moving between Versova and Bandra. The Italian firm which has been looped in for the project has also released a digital rendering of the project while Reliance Infrastructure has completed the paper work on soil investigation in partnership with Fugro. MSRDC is expected to finalize the location of the casting yard to start the project, said an official spokesperson.
