MHA Sanctions Rs 653 Cr for Delhi Police Infrastructure Projects Including 18 New Stations

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned Rs 653.4 crore for new infrastructure projects of the Delhi Police, with 26 projects currently in the pipeline. The initiative aims to provide modern, well-equipped facilities to improve the working and living conditions of police personnel, while ensuring a safer and more secure environment for Delhi’s citizens.

The projects include the construction of 18 police stations, seven police posts, and staff quarters, featuring gender-sensitive facilities to create a conducive work environment for women personnel. All projects will be executed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).

In Narela, a new police station will be built along with two others at IFC Pocket and Sector A7, while a police post will come up at Sector A/9. Additional police stations are planned at Fatehpur Beri, Sawada Ghevra, Bhalswa Dairy, Raj Park, Burari, Kapashera, Palam Village, Aman Vihar, Shahbad Dairy, and Dheerpur, each with an estimated cost of Rs 35–37 crore.

The plan also includes 180 staff quarters, with 12 Type II and Type III quarters in each project. Construction activities will further extend to Govindpuri, Safdarjung Enclave, Bharat Nagar, and Deshbandhu Gupta Road, along with police posts at Subhash Place, Lok Nayak Puram, and Vasant Gaon.

A women’s hostel will be constructed at Rohini with an allocated budget of Rs 16.7 crore, offering modern accommodation and improved amenities for women personnel.
