Tata Steel Partners with SER for Sustainable Rail Infrastructure

Tata Steel has partnered with South Eastern Railway (SER) to develop eco-friendly rail infrastructure using slag-based aggregates. The initiative aims to promote sustainability and conserve the environment. SER General Manager Anil Kumar Mishra highlighted the importance of sustainable alternatives in infrastructure development. Tata Aggreto and Tata Nirman will be utilized in constructing railway track blanketing layers, offering greener alternatives to natural aggregates. Rajeev Shrivastava, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), briefed on the Ministry of Railways' plan to strengthen rail infrastructure. Tata Steel has established facilities to process LD slag into sustainable aggregates, reducing the need for mining natural resources and transportation.
