MIC Electronics Wins Railway Contracts Worth Over Rs 7.8 Cr to Upgrade Passenger Information Systems

MIC Electronics Limited has secured new railway contracts worth over Rs 7.8 crore from Central Railway and Southern Railway to deploy advanced passenger information systems.

The company has been awarded a contract worth over Rs 1.12 crore by the Nagpur Division of Central Railway for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of telecom and Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS) at Wardha station.

In addition, MIC Electronics is executing a project under Southern Railway’s Salem Division as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The project covers deployment of integrated passenger information systems at stations including Salem, Tirupattur, Samalpatti, Morappur and Bommidi, along with five years of maintenance support. The project value has been revised to around Rs 6.76 crore.

The projects involve installation of digital display boards, telecom infrastructure, centralised data control systems and announcement systems to provide real-time passenger updates.

These developments are aimed at improving passenger communication and supporting Indian Railways’ push towards smart, technology-enabled stations.
