Goa Water Metro DPR Under Preparation For 111 Km Inland Water Transport Network

Water-Metro
The Goa government has said the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed Water Metro and inland water transport network is under preparation, following the completion of a feasibility study. Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) is preparing the DPR and it has already submitted its feasibility study report for the proposed project.

The planned inland water transport network will cover nine routes spanning 111 km of waterways. The realistic estimated cost of the project will be determined after the DPR is submitted. The funding pattern, including Central assistance and the state government's contribution, will also be decided at that stage.

The DPR will also include a traffic and transport study to assess the likely impact of the Water Metro on road congestion, vehicular traffic, fuel consumption, travel time and carbon emissions.
