The Phase-II of the Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad (MEGA) has been fast-tracked with the detailed project report (DPR) being sent to the state government for approval. The two branches included the one from Raysan Crossroads to Gift City and the second connecting Motera and the Ahmedabad Airport, said official sources, claiming that the DPR for the second phase, which is being prepared by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), is almost complete and will be submitted shortly. The second phase will start from Motera and will connect PDPU, Raysan, Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The metro in Gandhinagar, will connect Akshardham, Sector 24, and Mahatma Mandir, which is also close to Gandhinagar railway station.
