The project is being developed by National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a special purpose vehicle of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), through AMARA TRANZ Solution. The foundation stone ceremony was held at Sindi Railway in the presence of Guardian Minister Pankaj Bhoyar, MLA Sameer Kunawar, Wardha District Collector Vanmathi C, former MP Ramdas Tadas and Sindi Railway Municipal Council President Rani Kalode, among others.
Gadkari said the logistics park would enable direct exports of cotton, cotton lint, yarn, oranges and vegetables from Vidarbha to international markets through JNPA. The facility is also expected to reduce cargo transportation time along the Mumbai–Colombo–Dhaka route. He added that the first rake carrying Maruti cars had already commenced operations from the project.
The logistics park is being jointly developed by NHLML and JNPA across 150 acres near Sindi Railway station, close to the Nagpur–Wardha district border. The associated dry port will facilitate the movement of cotton, textiles, oranges and other products from Vidarbha to Bangladesh via Haldia in Kolkata, eliminating the need to transport these goods to Mumbai first.
According to Gadkari, the arrangement is expected to reduce transportation costs per container from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 1 lakh, potentially benefiting farmers and exporters in the region.
The project will include cold storage facilities, warehouses and infrastructure to consolidate cargo from major industrial centres in Nagpur and Wardha. Exporter clusters are also planned at the site to support trade and logistics operations.
A customs office is proposed at Sindi Railway, enabling the facility to handle containers from domestic and international markets. The logistics park is expected to strengthen regional export infrastructure, improve freight movement and support economic activity in Vidarbha.
