Telangana allocates ₹10,903-cr for urban infra projects

Telangana government has allocated ₹10,903 crore to the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) department, which in turn will take up the listed big infra projects that are awaiting implementation. The government has earmarked ₹6,798.63 crore under scheme expenditure and the allocations under various schemes including ₹351.36 crore as government share for the Smart City project and ₹133.53 crore under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. For the Yadagirigutta Area Development Authority, it has allotted ₹350 crore and for the Vemulawada Area Development Authority ₹50 crore.

For the development of the catchment areas across the Musi River, it has allocated ₹200 crore and has also set aside ₹300 crore to the Water Board for providing 20,000 litres of free water to the masses under the GHMC. ₹100 crore has been provided as the land pooling seed money and earmarked ₹75.47 crore for airstrips.

For the Central scheme of Swachh Bharat, it has set aside ₹68.89 crore and allocated ₹697 crore for the urban health sector and an amount of ₹283 crore has been made available for interest-free loans to the city dwellers and also allocated ₹10 crore each for Khammam, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, and Ramagundam corporations.
