PM Modi Inaugurates Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre in Mysuru
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the newly inaugurated centre would expand the mission of the Ramakrishna Ashrama by nurturing youth committed to nation-building, social service and character development. He recalled Mysuru's historic association with Swami Vivekananda and noted that the then Maharaja of Mysuru had extended crucial support to the young monk before his global recognition.
Highlighting the Ramakrishna Ashrama's century-long contribution to education, healthcare and humanitarian service, Modi said the Viveka Smaraka would become a platform to develop responsible, confident and service-oriented youth who place the nation and society above personal interests.
The Prime Minister also underlined the government's efforts to create greater opportunities for young Indians through expanded higher education infrastructure, implementation of the National Education Policy, establishment of PM SHRI schools, Atal Tinkering Labs, and initiatives promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and scientific temperament.
He said India's youth are driving the country's progress in sectors such as artificial intelligence, deep technology, space, startups and advanced manufacturing, making India one of the world's fastest-growing economies.
Calling upon young people to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda's teachings, Modi urged them to contribute towards nation-building through education, innovation, sports, environmental conservation and support for local artisans under the "Vocal for Local" initiative.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre would emerge as a lasting institution dedicated to youth empowerment and the values of service, leadership and national development.
