The approved projects cover sectors including data centres and artificial intelligence (AI), power and renewable energy, steel, semiconductors, lab-grown diamonds, green hydrogen, healthcare, chemicals, textiles, shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing.
Data centres, AI and IT-related projects account for the largest share of the proposed investment. Four projects in the sector involve a combined investment of around Rs 1,42,941 crore. These include an integrated data centre by High Density Data Centre Ltd in Khurda, an AI-optimised data centre by HCL Technologies in Khurda, a data centre and global capability centre by Sentraforge AI in Puri, and a data centre by RKD Construction in Cuttack.
The government has also approved four power and renewable energy projects involving a combined investment of Rs 54,287.70 crore.
Two steel and downstream projects with a total investment of Rs 14,000 crore are proposed in Sundergarh. The projects are expected to add to the state's industrial capacity and downstream manufacturing activity.
In the healthcare sector, the Adani Foundation has proposed a 1,000-bed multi-speciality hospital in Khurda with an investment of Rs 2,150 crore.
The approved projects span multiple regions of Odisha, with the state government seeking to expand investment beyond established industrial clusters and promote industrial development across districts.
