Dilip Buildcon has been selected as the successful bidder for a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the grant of authorisation to lay, build, operate or expand a petroleum and petroleum product pipeline from Paradip in Odisha to Raipur in Chhattisgarh.

The Project Authority is the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).

Under the project, PNGRB will grant an exclusive licence to Dilip Buildcon to develop LPG pipeline infrastructure, including financing, construction and operation, and to levy and collect tariffs for LPG transportation up to the designated delivery point.

The project will have a construction period of three years, followed by an operation period of 25 years.

Dilip Buildcon will undertake the design, financing, development, construction, operation and maintenance of the proposed LPG pipeline infrastructure, subject to applicable approvals, authorisations and regulatory requirements of PNGRB.

The proposed pipeline will facilitate the transportation of LPG to bottling plants operated by various oil marketing companies (OMCs). The project is intended to replace the existing road-based transportation of LPG through tankers, while improving the safety of LPG movement on roads.
