Pool-Residential-Accommodation
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved two major Central Government infrastructure projects in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, with a total investment of Rs 2,533.99 crore. The projects include the construction of a General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) campus and a Central Government General Pool Office Accommodation (CGGPOA) complex, aimed at strengthening the administrative infrastructure of the state's capital city.

The first project involves the development of a GPRA campus at a cost of Rs 1,234.91 crore. Spread across 17 acres, the residential complex will comprise 11 towers housing 1,504 dwelling units ranging from Type II to Type VI. The project will provide a total built-up area of 31.30 lakh sq ft, including basement parking for 1,972 equivalent car spaces. It is the first GPRA project to be developed in Amaravati and Andhra Pradesh. The housing facility is intended to provide quality accommodation to Central Government employees, enabling them to reside closer to their workplaces and improving their overall welfare and efficiency.

Central-Government-Pool-Office
The second project involves the construction of Central Government General Pool Office Accommodation at a cost of Rs 1,299.08 crore. Planned on 5.53 acres, the office complex will offer around 23.25 lakh sq ft of built-up space through two office blocks and is designed to accommodate approximately 8,000 officials and staff. The facility will bring various Central Government offices under one roof, improving inter-departmental coordination and enhancing service delivery in Andhra Pradesh.

Both projects will be developed by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs through the Central Public Works Department (CPWD). Pre-bid activities have commenced and tender documents are being prepared. The projects will be funded through budgetary support from the Government of India.

The residential and office complexes will be designed as green buildings with a minimum GRIHA 4-Star rating, incorporating energy-efficient and sustainable construction practices. They will also include various civic and community amenities and feature barrier-free access for persons with disabilities.

The projects are expected to generate substantial employment during both construction and operation. Together, they will significantly enhance Amaravati's administrative ecosystem and support its development as a modern capital city.
