Gurgaon metro in expansion mode
In a recent development, the state government in Haryana has proposed to expand metro network from the HUDA City Centre metro station to Gurgaon railway station, thereby, bringing the old Gurgaon area on the metro radar. The government is considering two alternate routes for the link and a Detailed Project Report will be prepared shortly. In this connection, the Haryana Urban Development Authority and the Department of Town and Country Planning are sending proposal to the state government for getting mandatory clearance. On this score, a feasibility study was carried out recently to explore the possibility of connecting the HUDA City Centre metro station to Dwarka via Gurugram railway station and the project was found to be both technically and financially viable, said official sources.
