Gujarat Govt Approves Rs 1,185 Cr Road Projects in South Gujarat

Gujarat-CM-B-Patel
The Government of Gujarat has approved road infrastructure projects worth around Rs 1,185 crore to improve connectivity to major tourist destinations across South Gujarat.

The projects were cleared by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel under Phase-1 of the Surat Economic Region Plan. The initiative focuses on widening and upgrading roads in the districts of Surat, Navsari, Tapi, Valsad and Dang.

The approved projects include widening and strengthening several key road stretches connecting eco-tourism destinations, coastal areas and pilgrimage centres in the region. Select routes will be upgraded to four-lane and six-lane highways to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time.

The road development programme will also enhance access to major tourism circuits such as the Ahmedabad–Dandi Heritage Route and the Parsi Tourism Circuit, which attract visitors interested in heritage, cultural and coastal tourism.

The infrastructure push is aimed at improving travel convenience for tourists and residents travelling from major cities such as Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat while supporting tourism-driven economic development across South Gujarat.
