Excon 2017 Launch: Countdown Begins for the Mega Show

To provide an ideal business platform to assist the country in meeting the huge infrastructure deficit and adding to the GDP growth, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) together with the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (iCEMA) is organizing the 9th edition of Excon. As a build up to the event, a pre-launch was held at hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi last evening. The mega trade show, which has been lauded as the South Asia’s largest construction equipment and technology trade fair, is scheduled to be held during 12 to 16 December 2017 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru.

In his address to the audience, Chairman, CII Trade Fair Council and Chairman, Excon 2017, Vipin Sondhi, presented an overview of the upcoming event. The Launch Session was graced by Diplomats, Foreign Trade office representatives in Delhi, Senior Government Officials, CEOs of top Construction Equipment Manufacturers, seniors from Infrastructure Industry and the media. Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, Suresh Prabhu, failed to makein to the ceremony but he addressed the gathering through video conferencing.

Deputy Director, CII, Virendra Gupta, in his welcome speech reiterated that the CII has been playing a pioneering role in facilitating accelerated development of Infrastructure in India by organizing the biennial Excon. Additional Members (works) Ministry of Railways Railway Board, Anirudh Jain elaborated on the upcoming railway projects entailing an investment of Rs. 8 lakh crore in the next five years. President, iCEMA, Anand Sundaresan gave the Vote of Thanks.

In the last addition, Excon featured 794 exhibitors in over 2,00,000 square feet of space and 33,148 visitors attended the event. Excon 2017 is expected to attract more than 1000 exhibitors including 275 from various countries on the 2,50,000 sq.mts of exhibition space. The mega show will house 12 Country Pavilions of countries like China, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, UK & USA and is expected to attract over 40,000 business visitors and have over 300 new product launches. There will be Industry conferences by CII, BAI and iCEMA and B2B Meetings and Networking Forums.
