L&T Wins Largest-Ever Domestic Metals Order from JSW Steel for Capacity Expansion

Larsen & Toubro’s Minerals & Metals (M&M) business has secured its largest-ever order in India’s metals sector from JSW Steel.

The contract involves engineering, procurement and installation of key process facilities, including blast furnaces and steel melt shops, across multiple expansion projects at JSW Steel’s sites in Ballari, Karnataka and Paradip, Odisha.

The order aligns with JSW Steel’s plan to expand its crude steel capacity from 35 MTPA to over 50 MTPA by 2031. The partnership between L&T and JSW Steel spans over three decades, with both companies collaborating on large-scale metallurgical projects to strengthen India’s steel production capabilities.
