Adani Cement Supplies 65,000 MT Cement for Chenab Rail Bridge in J&K

Adani Cement, comprising Ambuja Cements and ACC, played a crucial role in the construction of the world’s highest railway arch bridge over the Chenab River in Jammu & Kashmir, a significant milestone in India’s infrastructure journey.
As the lead cement supplier, Adani Cement contributed approximately 65,000 metric tonnes of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) 43 Grade, renowned for its high strength and durability. This grade of cement was selected for its proven performance under extreme climatic and geological conditions, making it ideal for the Chenab Bridge project.
Vinod Bahety, CEO - Cement Business, Adani Group, stated, “It is a matter of immense pride for us to be part of a project that not only redefines engineering boundaries but also contributes to national integration. At Adani Cement, we believe every bag of cement carries the weight of the nation’s progress.”
The Chenab Rail Bridge, constructed by Indian Railways, is a symbol of engineering excellence and resilience. Spanning challenging Himalayan terrain, the bridge is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, aimed at enhancing connectivity in the region.
This landmark reinforces Adani Cement’s role as a trusted partner in nation-building. As India accelerates its infrastructure development, Adani Cement remains committed to delivering high-quality materials that support faster, stronger, and more sustainable growth.
