Pai Machines has launched its new Wheel Loader PWL 959 — designed and manufactured in India to meet the evolving needs of Indian customers. The design of the wheel loader focuses on its optimised performance, flow on demand hydraulics, demand adaptive power delivery, and intuitive control interface, to give best-in-category efficiency and durability.

Powered by the globally proven power train components from Cummins and ZF, the PWL 959 offers an 18,350 kg operating weight, and a 175 kN best-in-class breakout force, ensuring strong performance across quarry, mining, constructions and industrial applications. Multiple bucket options ranging from 2.7 to 5.0 m³ allow customers to optimize the machine for specific site requirements.

Significant emphasis has been placed on operator-centric design by providing air conditioning as standard along with ROPS/FOPS Level 2 certified cabin, enhanced all-round visibility, improved bucket positioning, and smoother machine response for reduced operator fatigue, improved jobsite safety, and faster cycle times. Multiple drive modes: power and eco enable operators to balance performance with fuel efficiency based on application.

“We are confident that the PWL 959 will create a new benchmark in the construction industry with its high productivity and lifetime value to customers. It was engineered with a clear understanding of Indian jobsite realities like heavy material handling, long duty cycles, high ambient temperatures, rugged environments, and the need for dependable productivity,” said Abhijeet Pai, Founder. “Overall, the PWL 959 reflects our ability to deliver machines that have higher productivity, better control, and lower lifecycle costs, making all our products well-suited for demanding Indian conditions while meeting global expectations.”

Pai Machines also showcased its range of CEV-V compliant compaction equipment which included the PTC 903 Mini Tandem Compactor designed for urban and confined applications. With an impressive 3,070 kg operating weight and a 24.8 hp CEV-V engine, it offers precise control, optimized amplitude and frequency settings, making it ideal for city roads, utilities, and patchwork jobs where manoeuvrability and efficiency are critical.

For larger infrastructure projects, Pai Machines presented the PSC 911 Soil Compactor, engineered for high output and demanding site conditions. Powered by a 74 hp CEV-V engine and weighing 11,150 kg, the machine features dual amplitude and frequency options, high centrifugal force, and higher gradeability, enabling faster coverage and consistent compaction on highways and embankments. This machine is designed for DEF-less operations, thereby reducing considerable operating cost for the customers.

“Following our buyout of L&T’s CE manufacturing business, L&T’s design & manufacturing team which developed material handling and road products for L&T, was instrumental in developing our new products. Hence, our readiness in L&T legacy machines reflect the team’s rich experience of more than two decades. This can be seen in our CEV-V compliant platforms, future-ready telematics integration, and modular designs that allow faster customization for different applications,” said Abhijeet Pai.

“The display also reflects our capability in manufacturing, quality systems, and engineering depth, signalling Pai Machines intent to be a full-range player in the construction equipment space.”

“The response from visitors at EXCON was extremely encouraging — validating our vision of ‘Designed and Built in India for Global Standards’. What stood out most was the feedback on the products’ build quality and operator-centric design, and confidence in the strong fundamentals of our brand and ability to scale responsibly—both in India and in international markets.

Pai informed that the company plans to expand its product portfolio in line with evolving customer requirements. Over the next 2-3 years, it will develop more energy-efficient and environment friendly variants, optimized for specific applications and duty cycles. The company is also assessing electric variants, given the growing focus on sustainability, lower operating costs, and regulatory readiness—particularly for urban and controlled environments.

“Alongside our product expansions, Pai Machines will continue to invest in capacity expansion, localization, and advanced quality systems, strengthening its ability to scale production while maintaining consistency and reliability. These initiatives, combined with our ongoing work on digital technologies and telematics, will enable us to deliver future-ready equipment for both domestic and global markets,” concluded Abhijeet Pai.
