NBM&CW Celebrates 31st Milestone

Whenever I sit down to write the editorial for the anniversary issue of NBM&CW, I find myself reflecting on what we have achieved and what remains to be done. This year, as we mark 31 years, the feeling is no different. I would say we have done well in creating a strong platform for industry dialogue, showcasing innovations, voicing challenges, and capturing the evolving landscape of India’s construction and infrastructure sector. But deep down, I also feel that maybe we could have done even more. And the same could be said for the industry.
India’s infrastructure journey over the past 25 years has been nothing short of extraordinary. Highways have multiplied, metro lines snake across our cities, tunnels pierce through mountains, and new airports rise from barren lands. Their speed and scale of construction have been remarkable. But while we often celebrate the numbers – kilometers of road built, tunnels bored, or bridges erected, what we do not talk about enough is how these were built.
