Wirtgen showcases half-meter milling machine, next-gen surface miner, mobile power feeder, new technologies
The new half-meter milling machine W55H is a premier machine for the Indian market. It is versatile, powerful, and a cold milling machine that can be relied upon to perform milling oprations in a cost efficient manner. The integrated Level PRO Plus system ensures precise milling results.
The next generation surface miner, was a world premiere. The design of the 3.8 m cutting drum unit has been optimized for the mining of soft rock to ensure maximum productivity at minimum operating costs. The surface miner extracts natural resources at a cutting depth of upto 350 mm and with an unconfined compressive strength of upto 35 MPA, selctively.
"It is the first time that we have displayed this machine at any exhibition. It has been tried and prototyped and has shown fantastic performance. We are expecting at least 20 per cent more production and 15 per cent less fuel consumption with this machine, and there is a lot of interest for it from the mining sector," said Ramesh Palagiri, MD, Wirtgen India.
The third new product at the expo was the VÖGELE mobile power feeder MT 3000-2 designed to deliver higher productivity and high quality, especially for the super highway projects that have four or six lanes or even eight lanes. The power feeder enables uninterrupted, non contacting material transfer, resulting in faster paving. With its peak conveying performance of 1200t/hr, the power feeder can empty a full lorryload in just 60 seconds. The team of two - the material feeder and paver — feature a storage capacity of 45 tons, equivalent to two complete lorryloads, which allows the team to work continuously and ensure maximum pavement evenness at all times, without inturruptions, which in turn completes projects more quickly and economically. Another specialty of this product is that the mix temperature is well maintained as the mixing takes place in the mobile feeder.
Added Ramesh Palagiri, "bauma Conexpo India 2018 gave us a platform to demonstrate our premium solutions and innovations for Road and Mineral Technologies. Along with our products, the second dimension is the technologies that we have launched. Our 'Road Scan' technology, for instance, will let you know the temperature of the asphalt while the paving is being done, and corrective actions taken, if required. Another technology that we have launched is the 'Niveltronic plus'. This technology will help us in stringless paving, which gives better accuracy and quality."
