UNITER's Hydrostatic Self- Propelled paver for Road Widening
UNITER Engineering Products has developed a Self-Propelled Road Widener Model UWNR4, the first of its kind in India. This machine is capable of laying material for road widening and side shoulders. It can lay material from 2 to 6 feet wide and is capable of laying up to 1 foot below the road level. UWNR4 can lay GSB, Murrum and aggregate of 40mm or more, below the road level.
UNITER draws focus on Hydrostatic Self-Propelled Road Widener reducing maintenance issues. Proper sub grade preparation is crucial, and the UWNR4 streamlines the process, replacing labor intensive tasks and minimizing material wastage. It is both time-efficient and cost-effective.
Sanjay Surelia, Managing Partner, UNITER informed that UNITER has an in-house R&D team and design the machine considering customer requirements regarding utility, life, easy operation and maintenance. Material used, life, efficiency, safety are optimized while designing machine. All components are designed to withstand load subjected while machine performs to its fullest capacity and gives desired life. It may be mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic or any component, they are designed considering proper factor of safety.
“When introducing the machine to the customers, we involve the operator to understand the machine's operation as it features rear steering, unlike the conventional front steering.”
“We envisage a strong demand for this versatile machine which is suitable for both widening and side shoulder work. It simplifies the tedious task of side shoulder work, ensuring quality control and material savings. Although only two machines have been sold, we are closely monitoring their durability. Thus far, we have received positive results and our customers have not faced any problem.”
Our regular product asphalt paver is available with hydraulic transmission. “The concept, widely used in developed countries, has been introduced by the company in India,” informed Surelia. This machine replaces the traditional mechanical pavers with hydrostatic transmission. In mechanical pavers, engine is coupled with gearboxes and clutches for transmission, whereas in hydraulic pavers, clutches are eliminated and gears are minimized. UNITER is offering two models of paver that come with a 74.5 hp engine, hydraulic transmission, hydraulic Conveyor, dual operator seat with paving width up to 4.5m. One of the models is with sensor for slope and grade control and other is manual. Both models are designed to meet the basic requirements and are tested and approved by ARAI.
