Fayat Asphalt Batch Mix Plants, Paving And Compaction Solutions
Fayat Road Equipment Division is positioning its brand more competitively in the Indian market for asphalt batch mix plants, paving and compaction solutions through Marini and Dynapac brands, as it is keen to expand its business volume in India, reveals Frederic Marsal, Chief Operations Officer, Fayat Mixing Plants. “Our brand stands for high value and superior quality. The products are characterized by their lower operating cost, higher performance, and complete product support.”
The company has recently launched its MAP series of 140-180 tph asphalt batch mix plants, wherein ‘P’ denoting Performance. This series offers greater performance, safety, and care for the environment. The modular products are completely aligned with the company’s global Marini products platform developed in Italy and also synergized with Indian application requirements.
“We ensure lower operating costs of our asphalt batch mix plants as they are highly energy efficient due to our imported multi-fuel burners. These burners are made in Europe and fully comply with CE standards and meet European emission norms with their highest energy efficiency and combustion standards. They are also developed for export markets,” informs Frederic Marsal.
“We are trying to build our business in the highly competitive Indian market by delivering lower total cost of operations so that customers can fully recover the initial costs of the plants in two years, irrespective of their capacity. Our plants are designed to be safe, and we ensure their optimum availability to the extent possible.
He informs that Marini currently has 140 plants of various capacities working in India. Our MAC asphalt plants where C denotes Care, we have specification to handle high degree of RAP as well as additional options. The plants are future-ready and RAP enabled; and can work very well with upto 60 percent recycled asphalt with high energy efficiency. Marini’s patented IoT-based Cybertronics enables complete monitoring of the plants. Marini has wide experience with up to 100% RAP and an Ermont plant has worked in France to lay 5 km highway with through 100 percent recycled materials.
“In India, all our plants have delivered through put with high output per hour due to reliable & efficient design. One of our plants that was delivered in 1998 has produced more than five million tons of asphalt. A Our MAC240 (240 tph plant) delivered to contractor PMC created a world record of producing 40,000 tons of asphalt mix in a non stop operation of hundred hours without any breakdown.”
“A very important development which we have brought to the Indian market - but is yet to come in the Indian Road Congress guidelines - is the usage of foam bitumen, which will bring down fuel consumption drastically. Since our plants are of premium origin, we keep on updating our channel partners and service providers on their features, maintenance etc to ensure their availability.”
“Based on the performance data of our machines, we have seen there is room to streamline operations right from batching to transportation. This is achievable while keeping the temperature of the asphalt mix at the right levels and avoiding any disruptions in supplies of the mix.”
The company has introduced inline hot bins to store the asphalt. Apart from regular production, the asphalt can also be stored upto 100 and 200 tons, and ready for use at site. The bins can be bypassed temporarily in case of any disruption in the performance of the plant.
As regards advancements being made in the Dynapac solutions, Abhijit Som, Managing Director, Fayat Road Equipment Division India, says, “We have complete solutions for Road industry in Fayat Road Equipment division ranging from road building, repairing, cleaning, and recycling. We have made improvements in our pavers with the introduction of BS IV norms. As per their European design, they now have bigger control units with easy to integrate functions like lane control without manual interventions, there is a provision for controlling the edges with sensors. An advanced automated feature is the paving calculator through which the amount of paving being done at a given speed can be recorded and evaluated to check for any gaps in operations, and make the required corrections.”
He adds, “All our machines are connected with an IoT platform to give us daily reports on their performance. This information helps us in our support and services to customers. Another key advancement for pavers is the truck assistance to check if the asphalt mix is unloaded through the tipper bodies in the right manner in the paver hopper. It can record and evaluate all the paving data so that, if required, paver performance can be optimized. We are also looking to increase our customization of truck bodies in consultation with truck manufacturers for transporting the asphalt.”
Dynapac is marketing its 9-10 metre and 13.5-meter working width sensor pavers in India for highways, airports etc wherein it also offers has a soil compactor and asphalt rollers which is backed by a specialist team in India for providing pre- and post-sales support to customers.
