Dynapac Pavers, Compactors & Tandem Rollers at work in Bangladesh
Replacing the old runway of Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram with a new paved and diligently reconstructed runway was a challenging task. It was the only runway available at the airport and was also used by the Bangladesh Airforce. Dynapac Asphalt Pavers, Soil Compactors, and Tandem Rollers demonstrated great performance and flexibility at the project site.
Working on the 3200-m long runway during the day was not possible as it would affect the airport’s daily operations. So, the only alternative was the night-time. Besides, the Airport Authority would have penalized the contractor if the work was not completed in the stipulated time.
All these pressing issues made it imperative to select the most suitable machines as regards their efficiency, performance, and speed. The contractor, Mir Akhter Hossain Ltd, therefore, deployed its fleet of Dynapac that included six units of asphalt tandem roller CC 425 of 9-10 tons, six units of tandem roller CC 425, one unit of soil compactor of 13 tons; and one unit of the Beast SD2500C 9-m paver for the project and for other ongoing jobs, with the support of Dynapac’s local dealer Runner Trading in Dhaka.
M. G. Mustafa, Sr. Executive Director at Mir Akhter Hossain, informed that they expanded their fleet of Dynapac products for the Chattogram Airport assignment. For him, the choice was obvious, as he had a wonderful experience with Dynapac throughout. “We have been using Dynapac equipment for more than one year, having employed them on several challenging airport projects. These equipments have been integral to the success of all our projects related to asphalt work and soil compaction, irrespective of the specifications and customer requirements.”

We did not face any major breakdowns during the course of our work. Now that we have expanded the fleet, we can take on more projects in the future,” he added.
