CASE unveils Vibratory Tandem Compactor, Pro Series Backhoe Loader, and Only Loader
CASE Construction Equipment unveiled its latest new products - the 752EX Vibratory Tandem Compactor, 770EX OL Only Loader, and upgraded PRO Series Loader Backhoe for greater robustness, fuel efficiency, productivity, and operator comfort. It also displayed for the first time the 2050M Dozer and 1107EX Soil Compactor, in addition to graders, skid steer loaders, and backhoe loaders. The wide range of equipment illustrates the company’s ability to cater to diverse activities such as urban construction, road building, infrastructure, mining, and agriculture.
The CASE 752EX is equipped with a fuel-efficient 3.9-liter 4-cylinder engine, with a mechanical injection system and internal exhaust gas recirculation that delivers 76 HP at 2200 rpm and torque of 332 Nm at 1300 rpm. This new-generation engine - developed by CNH Industrial subsidiary FPT Industrial, leading manufacturer of engines, transmissions and powertrains - provides outstanding performance, fast response times, and best-in-class fuel economy. The 752EX’s single-piece engine hood gives easy access for routine maintenance, with all daily service points conveniently accessible at ground level.
The 752EX’s operator compartment features a rotating operator seat which gives excellent front and rear drum/nozzle visibility, making the drive and compaction process easier and safer. The look of the machine is enhanced by two post canopies and by new fuel and water tanks.
Customised for the Indian market, the CASE 770EX OL is powered by a 3.9-liter 4-cylinder FPT Industrial S8000 engine with a mechanical injection system. This delivers powerful performance and fast responses coupled with 5 percent higher productivity and fuel savings of up to 10% versus comparable products in the market. It is re-engineered to deliver higher loader lift capacity. For enhanced operator comfort, the 770EX OL has a redesigned, spacious cab with operator-friendly features.
The 770EX OL features CASE’s state-of-the-art EAGLE EYE telematics solution to enhance performance and efficiency. This Asset Monitoring System combines internet, cellular and GPS technologies to keep an eye on details such as the real-time location of the machine, operating hours and cumulative hours, and sends warning text alerts when maintenance is required.
The CASE PRO Series Backhoe Loader is powered by an FPT Industrial S8000 engine which delivers powerful performance and fast response time coupled with 8 percent higher productivity and fuel savings of up to 10%. The Series is re-engineered from the ground-up to deliver industry-leading backhoe breakout force, higher loader lift capacity/reach and best-in-class cab visibility.
It has a robust, robotically welded two-piece structural frame design which results in great stability, performance, and serviceability. For versatility in different Indian operating conditions the machine is designed with heavy duty structures, tanks, fenders, and rims. To give the series a muscular look, there is a dual-colour tone, with a mix of Grey on the lower parts of the machine and Power Tan colour on the upper parts.
Bigger buckets allow greater load lifting and increase productivity. The series is equipped with a superior working range and will reach deeper than any other backhoe loader. There is a choice of two configurations: a standard dipper dig depth of 4.5 and 4.7 meters, or an extendable dig depth of 5.9 meters.
The power shuttle transmission in both the products – backhoe and OL loader - provides four forward and reverse speeds. The hydraulically shifted clutches allow the operator to change direction and travel speed on the go, while the control valves deliver smooth speed and direction shifts, resulting in smooth and accurate operation.
Both the Backhoe and Only Loader are equipped with CASE’s revolutionary Eagle Eye telematics for enhancing the performance and efficiency of the machine. This Asset Monitoring System gives the freedom of machine monitoring and remote diagnostics alerts at the click of a button on a mobile or desktop computer.
Mr. Abhijit Gupta, Brand Leader, CASE Construction Equipment India, said, “The new 752EX will strengthen CASE’s leadership position in the compactor segment, in which we are the only company to have sold more than 10,000 units in India. The PRO Series Backhoe Loader and the 770EX OL Only Loader are customized to India’s specific requirements. These new products are examples of how CASE stays ahead of the curve by constantly innovating and upgrading its machines to meet customers’ needs, and our manufacturing facility at Pithampur is testimony to our commitment to ‘Make in India’.”
Telematics is a big factor today
We are always looking at new technologies and at the same time, also listening at what customers want. Unless you can effectively marry the two, you cannot bring out fantastic new products, and if you are not going to address the value proposition in your products, then it is a waste of time. When I look how the industry is moving, telematics is a big factor today and everybody is trying to ensure that they can give customers the information they need so, that they can manage their fleet well. However, it is important to understand and identify the specific information needs of the various stakeholders. So, rather than giving out one big giant report, we can tailor the reports to meet the different requirements of different stakeholders so that the information is useful to them.
Ease of operation can be facilitated by putting in automated controls, which today is a developing market. It is difficult to get trained operators who can deal with complex issues, but automation will allow you to bring in even less experienced operators.
We are now looking at excavators
We have brought two models of graders, a dozer range (which has been a complementary product to our grader), and a soil compactor. Like everybody else, we are now looking at excavators, but when we do bring it. We will market it with the right support in conjunction with appropriate after-sales service once the machines are in the field. We will also take the direct sales and service approach to complement the dealer network. What we want to achieve at the end of the day is a consistent sales and service for customers in any part of the country.
We will continue to invest in India
India and China have a similar population size but India’s construction industry is 20% the size of China’s. So, there is immense potential for India’s CE industry to grow. At CASE, we are looking to localize as much as we can. Our manufacturing base here is also used as an export manufacturing facility. We are exporting to SE Asia, Russia etc; sometimes even components are being exported rather than the whole machines. We have recently invested in a manufacturing facility in Pithampur, and we will continue to invest in India to realize the opportunities in the country.
