Atlas Copco will look towards leveraging its presence in the growing road construction equipment sector, through increased promotion of its Dynapac technology equipment. "There is a definite demand for the ride on rollers, where there is precise requirement for shoulder paving. There aren't many companies present in this segment in India. Atlas Copco with its equipment built on European standards backed by timely and adequate service support will surely look towards tapping the road equipment business segment," says Mr. Nitin Lall, General Manager, Atlas Copco (India) Ltd., Construction Technique, adding, "We will increase promotion of our Ride on Rollers across 6-9-11 tons class."
He further says, "We are also extensively trying to promote concept selling to road contractors and project developers with solutions which minimize operating costs while ensuring higher productivity. One of our offerings in this direction in the recent past, targeted towards road tunneling has been Drumcutters which can be mounted on excavators and is meant for drilling tunnels with smaller diameters. While performing conventional drilling and blasting, there remains a possibility of the tunnel wall to collapse. However, with the tungsten carbide tools of the cutters gradually cutting across the rock, the possibility of having an overcut can be minimized to a large extent."
