ALLEN Triple Tube Paver at LAX

Allen Concrete Pavers has, for the last few years, produced triple tube pavers for airport and highway paving. The model 255 Triple Tube Paver features three 10" tubes (two drive and one paving), all hydraulic drive and controls. The machines can be fitted with front and rear walkways and come in widths up to 36 feet. The 255 Triple Tube Paver was used by Kiewit Pacific on a paving project at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport). This involved 20' (6.1m) x 18" (457mm) thick paving, and the concrete was a high early mix design with a maximum of a 3" (76mm) slump. There was also a specification for fixed internal vibrators capable of at least 10,000 vibrations per minute (vpm). Allen Concrete Pavers provided Kiewit Pacific with a 23' (7.2m) Model 255 Triple Tube Paver with a specially designed internal vibration system.

ALLEN Triple Tube Paver
This machine is easily capable of handling low slump concrete, and the specially-designed vibration system is capable of producing up to 12,000vpm. The vibration system is hydraulicallycontrolled and powered by a Kubota diesel engine, and the vibrators can be hydraulically raised and lowered into the concrete to avoid dowel baskets. The vpm of the vibrators is also hydraulically controlled. Hydraulic motors run a unique mechanical drive line to power the vibrators. By changing tube lengths, the overall width of the machine can be changed for different pour configurations. In India our Model 200C is being recommended for 4.5m paving width and depth ranging from 100mm to 600mm. Gang vibration system is quoted as optional.
