NHAI takes up ₹3,737-cr elevated highway project in Bihar
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) started the biding process for the road project destined to be completed in 30 months at an investment of ₹3,737.51 crore, construction work on the 21-km-long 4-lane elevated road between Danapur and Bihta is likely to commence soon state road construction minister Nitin Nabin, said, elaborating that the mobilisation period for moving men and machinery will be given to the contractor, following which the construction work will start as quickly as possible. Besides the elevated road, a 4-km-long four-lane road will be constructed from Bihta to Koilwar as part of the project. The highway stretch will be the longest elevated road in east India as the Danapur-Bihta road will also have a 600-metre tunnel for entry of vehicles in the proposed civil enclave at Bihta airbase. The elevated road will have four bypasses between Shivala and Bihta- Neoraganj, Painal, Kanhauli and Bisunpura and will start near Danapur DRM office and end at Koilwar. The project envisages construction of ramps at four places for the convenience of motorists. The first ramp will be at Danapur, second at Shivala Mor, third at Bihta airport link and fourth on Bihta-Sarmera bypass. The project also envisages construction of an underpass between Bihta and Koilwar along with four small bridges in the same stretch.
