The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has sanctioned ₹1,800 crore for the upgrade of a 54-km highway stretch between Talegaon Dhabade-Chakan and Shikrapur. The project aims to transform the road into an eight-lane highway, including a four-lane elevated road. NHAI has issued a tender for the project after conducting a survey. The upgrade is significant for the Talegaon, Chakan, and Ranjangaon MIDC areas in Maval, Khed, and Shirur sub-divisions. Upon completion, the road will see an increased width from Wadgaon Fata to Induri village in Maval tehsil, Pune, expanding to a total of 60 meters.
