Bids Opened for Untasked Road Project in Ghaziabad
The NHAI has invited bids for the one-time improvement of a 14.4 km stretch of the old GT Road without it being officially entrusted. The stretch from Lal Kuan to Gyani Border in Ghaziabad lacks NHAI entrustment, though funds have been allocated for its DPR. Officials confirm the absence of entrustment, and concerns arise as the bid document doesn't classify it as an NH. The NHAI plans to spend ₹371 crore on the road's improvement, but ministry norms dictate formal entrustment for government fund allocation. The road transport ministry previously warned NHAI about taking up works without proper entrustment and notification. The NHAI has been requested to submit a list of such stretches.
