MoRTH readies blueprint to build & widen 41,000 km highways

MoRTH
The Union Transport Ministry unveils an extensive plan to construct and widen approximately 41,000 km of national highways by 2031-32. This includes the development of 15,000 km of high-speed (access-controlled) corridors, with the initial phase projects set for bidding by 2028-29 and completion scheduled by 2031-32. The high-speed corridors aim to ensure accessibility within 100-150 km from any part of India, addressing congestion around cities and urban areas. The comprehensive plan aligns with the vision to establish around 50,000 km of high-speed corridors for efficient nationwide connectivity.
