MoRTH launches ₹3,000-cr road projects in AP

The Union Transport Minister has laid the foundation stones for eight National Highway Projects involving ₹3,000 crores in Godawari, Andhra Pradesh. He launched the construction work on 3 highway projects and 5 flyovers in the Godavari region. Around ₹2,625 crores will be spent to develop three highways – Vakalapudi – Uppada (40km stretch), Rampachodavaram – Koyyuru (70 km stretch), and Samarlakota – Achampeeta (12.5 km stretch). In totality, ₹5 lakh crores will be spent on the development of the Andhra Pradesh road network by the end of 2024 as per the plan to connect AP with Central India by developing a network of green express highways connecting AP, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Telangana. Additionally, ₹1,345 crores will be spent to develop the Kakinada and the Vakalapudi – Uppada road project and five flyovers would be constructed at the cost of ₹225 crores along the NH 216A in Rajamahendravaram.
