MoRTH Approves ₹343.74-cr for Mangalore-Tumkur NH Widening

MoRTH
The Union transport ministry has sanctioned ₹343.74 crore for the widening of the Mangalore-Mudigere-Tumkur section of National Highway-73 (NH-73). The project aims to transform the 10.8 km section into a two-lane road with paved shoulders and will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model. Negotiating challenging terrains, particularly the Charmadi Ghat, this initiative is expected to significantly enhance connectivity in the region. The narrow national highway connects various Karnataka cities such as Mangaluru, Bantwal Beltangady, Ujire, Charmadi, Kottigehara, Mudigere, Belur, Halebeedu, Javagal, Banavara, Arasikere, Tiptur, Kibbanahalli, Nittur, Gubbi, and Tumkur.
