NHAI Aims to Surpass ₹1 Lakh cr Asset Monetisation by Fiscal Year End
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to exceed ₹1 lakh crore in asset monetisation by the end of the current financial year. The NHAI expects to garner about ₹40,000 crore in the fiscal year, making it the highest-ever receipt from asset monetisation since 2018-19. The total monetisation receipts of NHAI between 2018-19 and 2022-23 amounted to ₹70,441.67 crore, covering toll-operate-transfer (TOT) bundles, infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs), and toll securitisation. In the current fiscal year, NHAI plans to raise funds through TOT bundles, InvITs, and toll securitisation, bringing the total receipts to ₹1,10,409.67 crore by March 31, 2024. The finance ministry has praised NHAI's success in asset monetisation as it complements public resources.
