Inert from bio-remediated waste to be used for road construction in Ludhiana

road construction in Ludhiana
In a pioneering move in Punjab, the Municipal Corporation of Ludhiana has undertaken a unique initiative where inert generated after bio-remediation of legacy waste will be utilized for road construction. This marks the first time such an eco-friendly approach is being adopted in the state.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) contractor, currently working on the Ludhiana-Ropar Highway (NH-205k), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the contractor responsible for the bio-remediation of legacy waste at the main dump site on Tajpur Road. The MoU was signed in the presence of MC Commissioner Dr. Shena Aggarwal and NHAI Project Director Ashok Rolania, ensuring compliance and accountability.

As part of this initiative, the civic body aims to dispose of accumulated legacy waste, while Sagar Motors has been engaged to carry out the bio-remediation process. This innovative step showcases Ludhiana's commitment to sustainable waste management and environment-friendly infrastructure development.
