
Apart from this, the authority has sped up the process of inviting tender for a flyover at Futi Kothi Square costing ₹55 crore while the work of soil testing for a flyover proposed at Mhownaka Square is underway. NHAI has also proposed to develop a 55 km long and 100-meter in width western ring road with support of IDA and MPIDC as both the state government’s agencies will have to make land available to complete 42 km and 13 km stretches of the ambitious project costing around ₹1,400 crore.
IDA has also decided to take up construction of around half-a-dozen major roads along with giving in-principal approval for acquiring around 5,000 acres of land for construction of around 42 out of total 55-km western ring road and developing new schemes on either side. The authority has invited tenders to appoint a consultant for its startup projects proposed on Super Corridor. IDA has approached NHAI to help it get an aerial map to be developed through drones to acquire 100-meter land for the proposed road and 200 feet land on either side to set up ‘Super Smart Indore’ by developing new schemes. The board has given in-principal approval for land acquisition and planning new schemes alongside a 42 km stretch of the proposed western ring road.
