Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated two major National Highway projects worth over Rs 3,300 crore in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The projects include the Madiyav-I.I.M. section of the Lucknow-Sitapur National Highway 24. Notably, the construction of the 4-lane elevated corridor at the crossing was completed six months ahead of schedule. This development will significantly enhance connectivity from Lucknow to Sitapur, alleviate heavy traffic congestion at Bhitauli Tiraha and Jankipuram Extension, and save commuters more than 30 minutes of travel time and fuel. The corridor will also facilitate pilgrimage visits to Chandrika Devi and Naimisharanya.

Additionally, a 4-lane road from Naviganj to Mitrasenpur in the Aligarh-Kanpur section was inaugurated. This road will enhance transportation between Naviganj, Kannauj, Mitrasenpur, and onward to Delhi. The project will boost economic development in the perfume hub of Uttar Pradesh, Kannauj, and its surrounding areas. It will also provide a significant impetus to small and medium industries in Chhibramau, Gursahaiganj, Jalalabad, and Manimau. Furthermore, farmers in Kannauj will enjoy improved transport facilities to Chhibramau and Naviganj Mandi, with easier access to Delhi.

These National Highway projects are expected to contribute to the overall development and progress of Uttar Pradesh, promoting connectivity, reducing travel time, and fostering economic growth in the region.
