Delhi govt approves ₹607-cr for underpass and flyovers

Underpass and flyovers in delhi
The government in the national capital has approved two flyovers and an underpass involving a combined investment of ₹607 crore. In the first case, a new underpass at Loni Chowk and a flyover between Nand Nagri and Gagan Cinema have been approved at an investment of ₹341.2 crore.

To ensure smooth traffic between central and north Delhi, the government has planned to build a double-decker flyover on GT road between Azadpur and Rani Jhansi Road intersection costing ₹266 crore. This project is being built by both DMRC and local PWD and will reduce the cost of construction by ₹150 crore.

The four-lane Loni Chowk underpass is likely to be around 500-m long and the flyover from Nand Nagri to the Gagan Cinema junction will be 1.3-km-long with six lanes. The construction of the underpass and flyover will make a 10-km stretch signal free and will help in decongesting Mangal Pandey Marg. Those traveling to Bhopura via Signature Bridge will have signal-free road to commute.
