Centre Approves Rs 13.9 Cr Cement Concrete Road Project Beneath Hubballi Flyover

Road
The Union government has approved the construction of a cement concrete (CC) road beneath the flyover in Hubballi, replacing the earlier asphalt design to improve durability and traffic conditions.

The revised project, costing an additional Rs 13.9 crore, will cover a 3.5-km stretch and is expected to commence within days, with machinery already mobilised at the site.

The upgrade follows sustained efforts by Mahesh Tenginkai, who pushed for a design change citing the long-term benefits of CC roads. Residents had also demanded the shift, highlighting the need for a more durable solution for high-traffic urban corridors.

The project will develop a four-lane CC road along key stretches from KC Circle to Hosur Cross, including Vijayapura Road, Gokul Road and Gadag Road.
