BDA floats tender for PRR road on PPP model

BDA
Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has floated a tender for construction of the 74-km long eight lane Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) connecting Tumakuru and Hosur roads under a public-private partnership model. The project will be built on design, build, finance, operate and transfer model. Issues regarding land acquisition and revenue-sharing modules with private partners are being worked out. The authority claimed that 2,560 acres have to be acquired for the project. Prior to this, BDA had scrapped the first tender citing technical glitches and floated fresh tender without altering the terms and conditions, Commissioner, BDA, Rajesh Gowda informed that the previous tender process was scrapped as investor companies had sought more time to study the feasibility and land survey for the project, and there was also no clarity on fixing compensation for acquiring land. At the pre-bidding meet they sought two months and the government gave them three months. But they failed to submit the project design and proposal prompting the authority to scrap the first tender.
