Telangana Approves 12,000 LIG Houses Under Indiramma Housing Scheme

The Telangana Government has approved the construction of 12,000 houses under the Indiramma Houses – Lower Income Group (LIG) Housing Scheme on a pilot basis as part of its affordable housing initiative in urban areas.

The approval is the first phase of the government’s larger plan to construct one lakh LIG houses across 24 Assembly constituencies within the Core Urban Area (CURE) limits.

Housing Department Secretary V.P. Gautham reviewed the progress of the project and directed officials to prepare proposals for the construction of the 12,000 houses. As part of the implementation process, he conducted an inspection in the Khairatabad Assembly constituency to identify suitable land parcels for the housing development.

During the visit, officials were asked to assess available land for slum redevelopment projects and the proposed LIG housing scheme.
