Indian Railways Approves Rs 220 Crore Traction Upgrade on Wadi-Raichur Section

The project will upgrade the existing 1×25 kV traction system to 2×25 kV across the 102 route km, or 204 track km, double-line section.
The Wadi-Raichur section forms part of High Density Network (HDN) Route-7, connecting Mumbai-Pune-Wadi-Raichur-Guntakal-Kadapa-Renigunta-Chennai.
The upgraded 2×25 kV system will strengthen power supply, improve operational efficiency and enable the section to accommodate growing passenger and freight traffic. The project is part of Indian Railways' ongoing programme to modernise traction infrastructure and increase capacity across high-density routes.
