Union Budget allocates ₹35,581-cr infra funds to J&K

Jammu and Kashmir has been allocated ₹35,581.44 crores in the Union Budget 2022-23. The central government has given more emphasis to this budget to meet the shortage of resources, for which ₹33,923 crore has been earmarked. J&K has been given ₹35,581.44 crore for 2022-23, compared to ₹34,704.46 crore in 2021-22, and Ladakh has been provided ₹5,958 crores, the same as in the current fiscal. A sum of ₹273 crores has been allocated as grants towards rehabilitation of Dal Nageen Lake and ₹279 crore has been given as grants towards contribution to UT Disaster Response Fund. The budget allocated ₹500 crore as support for capital expenditure of UT, ₹476.44 crore has been given as grants towards equity for Ratle 800 MW hydroelectric project and ₹130 crore has been made available towards equity contribution for 624 MW Kiru hydroelectric projects.
