President & PM Launch Rs 47,600 Crore Development Projects in Odisha, Announce Solar Village at Pahadpur

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Pahadpur village in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district and participated in a programme marking the completion of two years of the Odisha Government, where development projects worth over Rs 47,600 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones laid.

Addressing the gathering at Rairangpur, Prime Minister Modi said the projects would strengthen connectivity, public services, industrial growth and employment generation across the state. He described Odisha as a key driver of eastern India's growth and reiterated the Centre's vision of "Development of Eastern India for the Development of India".

A major announcement made during the event was the development of Pahadpur as a Solar Village, with solar power generation planned for every household. The Prime Minister said the initiative would transform the village into a model for clean energy adoption and sustainable development.

The projects unveiled span multiple sectors, including infrastructure, power, urban development and industrial growth. The Prime Minister said transformative investments worth around Rs 47,600 crore would significantly improve economic opportunities and quality of life for the people of Odisha.

Highlighting industrial development, he said Odisha has received investment proposals worth nearly Rs 20 lakh crore under the Utkarsh Odisha initiative, while mega projects worth more than Rs 3.5 lakh crore are currently under implementation. He added that more than Rs 6,000 crore is being invested in the power sector to support the state's growth ambitions.

The Prime Minister said the combined efforts of the Centre and the Odisha Government are accelerating development across sectors, including railways, highways, ports, energy, semiconductors and green energy. He expressed confidence that Odisha would play a crucial role in India's journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
